Recently, the results of the ��National Award of Urban and Rural Planning (URP) Design Excellence�� were released by the Urban Planning Society of China (UPSC). A Changzhou program organized and developed by the City Planning Bureau and Changzhou Institute of Surveying and Mapping, titledThe Research and Development of the 3D Visualization of Underground Pipeline Systems,claimed the first prize under the category of Surveying Engineering.
　　A highlight of this program is its additional functions of queries and automatic reminders for the life cycle of underground pipelines; another one is its special ��Management System of Abandoned Pipeline�� which is able to predict the specific type and location of an abandoned pipeline so as to avoid mistakenly digging any other lines; and the third point is its pipeline emergency processing, with which any dangerous condition can be immediately located.
