Recently, it was informed from Beijing that Wujin Hi-tech Zone and Wujin Economic Development Zone have been approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Science and Technology as national eco-industrial demonstration parks. So far, Changzhou has four national eco-industrial demonstration parks.

Eco-industrial demonstration park is a new type of industrial park designed in accordance with the concept of circular economy and industrial ecology as well as the requirement of clean production. Eco-industrial demonstration park is divided into national and provincial levels, and national eco-industrial demonstration park is the highest rating.

Wujin Hi-tech Zone and Wujin Economic Development Zone respectively applied for national eco-industrial demonstration park in February and April 2013.

According to theManagement Approach of National Eco-Industrial Demonstration Parks, the state evaluation authority organized experts to carry out on-site inspection of Wujin High-tech Zone and Wujin Economic Development Zone in five aspects of economic development, industrial symbiosis, resource conservation, environmental protection and information disclosure, all of which were evaluated in line with the acceptance requirements.
