On December 13, Fernando Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), led a delegation to Changzhou and investigated the preparatory work for the Jiangsu-Macao Cooperation Park. Party Secretary Wang Quan and Mayor Ding Chun held a meeting with the delegation and exchanged views on the key tasks in the next stage.

Wang Quan said that since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly stressed the need to adhere to the principle of "one country, two systems", support Macao's integration into the overall situation of national development, comprehensively promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Macao, and promote diversified economic development in Macao. Changzhou Municipal Committee of CPC and the Municipal Government have conscientiously implemented the guiding principles of Xi Jinping’s important speeches, followed the strong leadership of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of CPC and the Provincial Government, and steadily promoted the preparatory work for the Jiangsu-Macao Cooperation Park in accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed between the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and the Government of the Macao SAR. Changzhou will work harder and accomplish high-standard construction of the Park based on the principle of "co-construction, co-management, sharing, and win-win" cooperation.

Ding Chun introduced the recent preparations for the Park and the work plan. Adhering to the principle of "one country, two systems", Changzhou will learn from the successful experience of advanced parks such as the China–Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park (CS-SIP), accelerate the innovation of the institutional mechanism of the Park, explore the establishment of a joint venture model between the two sides, and strive to create a demonstration zone of innovation and cooperation between non-adjacent areas.

Fernando Chui Sai On said that Jiangsu and Macao have maintained friendly and cooperative relations for a long time. Since the establishment of the Jiangsu-Macao Cooperation Park in Changzhou, Macao and Changzhou have maintained close communication and good cooperation. In-depth exchanges in industrial and commercial, educational, and cultural sectors have been carried out between the two places, and the preparatory work for the Park has achieved important milestones. In the next step, Macao will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Changzhou, actively support the construction of the Park, and strive to build it into the platform for Macao's integration into the overall development of the country, for deepening cooperation between Jiangsu and Macao, for cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, for Macao youth to innovate in the Chinese mainland, and for young and civil servants in Jiangsu and Macao to learn from each other and enhance their professional competence.

During their stay in Changzhou, the Macao SAR delegation visited the site of Jiangsu-Macao Cooperation Park, the Construction Office and the Internet Industry Exhibition Hall, as well as the Changzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage exhibition. Fernando Chui Sai On expressed appreciation for the solid industrial foundation, excellent ecological environment and strong innovation atmosphere around the Park.
