On the morning of January 14th, the signing ceremony of the contract between Givaudan flavors project and Changzhou National High-tech District (CND) was held in the Administration Center. Givaudan is the global leader in the fragrance and flavor industry, offering its products to food, beverage, consumer goods and fragrance companies. Headquartered in Vernier, Switzerland, Givaudan holds a 25% market share in an industry which is valued overall at around CHF 18 to 19 billion. It has been listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange since June 2000 and is one of the country’s 30 largest companies in terms of market capitalisation. In 2014, Givaudan achieved sales of CHF 4.4 billion, with a workforce of over 9,000 employees and operating in over 100 countries in all major markets, in both mature and developing regions. Its China headquarter is located in Shanghai, and has offices in Beijing, Guangzhou, Nantong, Chengdu and Hong Kong. Givaudan Changzhou project is located in Changzhou Binjiang Economic Development Zone, with a total investment of 99.8 million US dollars and registered capital of 34.2 million US dollars. After the plant is put into operation, the annual output will be up to 10,000 tons, expecting output value of 100 million US dollars and tax of 50-70 million yuan per year. Vice Mayor Fang Guoqiang attended the signing ceremony.
