Changzhou’s first national Pioneering Park for Returned Overseas Students inaugurated

On November 25th, more than 100 outstanding returned overseas students from across the country witnessed the inauguration of China Changzhou Pioneering Park for Returned Overseas Students, which is the city’s first national pioneering park for graduates returned from abroad.

Located in the Science and Education Town, Changzhou Pioneering Park for Returned Overseas Students has achieved remarkable results in facility construction, introduction of talents, technology transfer, business incubation, and so on, after 10 years of development. By the end of 2013, the park has introduced, incubated and nurtured a total of 819 R&D institutions and technology enterprises. Among them, 189 businesses were founded by overseas returnees, of which 156 are currently settled down in the park, with registered capital of 675 million yuan in total. In 2013, the park achieved operating income of 4.55 billion yuan, an increase of 50%, and applied for 1,531 patents, including 972 invention patents.

Up to now, Changzhou has one provincial & ministerial pioneering park, seven provincial pioneering parks and two municipal pioneering parks, involving 3,077 returned overseas students and 500 start-ups established by overseas returnees.
