Changzhou reclaims International Friendship Cities Exchange & Cooperation Award

Recently, Changzhou was honored the International Friendship Cities Exchange & Cooperation Award in the China International Friendship Cities Conference 2014 held in Guangzhou, which was the third successive award for Changzhou.

Up to now, approved by the CPAFFC, Changzhou has established friendship-city relations with 37 cities in 19 countries around the five continents. Cooperation has been carried out in a wide range of areas including economy and trade, education, culture, health, and so on.

In the area of economy and trade, Changzhou and Essen, Germany, created Sino-Germany Innovation Park together with 200 mu (about 13.3 hectares) of land supplied by Essen. During the Tilburg-Changzhou Week, there were five enterprises in Changzhou signing contracts with companies in the Netherlands. The program of the Sino-Netherlands Aviation Industrial Park was launched officially in Changzhou National High-tech District (CND).

In the area of education, Changzhou provides special funds to host activities of friendly exchanges for teenagers with friendship cities and more, than 200 teenagers benefit from it every year. Changzhou also cooperates with African countries and receives four high school students from Mauritius to study in Changzhou.

In the area of culture, Changzhou hosts activities of Friendship Cities†Week or Changzhou’s Week regularly, and organizes the Qiaoyu International Friendship Cities Troupe on tours to different countries.

In the area of health, Changzhou promotes academic research and medical technology exchanges among Changzhou First Hospital, Changzhou Second Hospital, Changzhou Wujin Hospital and relevant institutes in Japan, France, Britain, Germany and America.

Going forward, Changzhou will further promote the exchanges and cooperation on the aviation industry with Tilburg, the photovoltaic industry with Russia, the auto industry with Germany, the pharmaceutical industry with Belgium, and the intelligent CNC industry with Italy.
