Recently, it was learned from the head of AGCO (Changzhou)’s new project in Wujin Hi-tech Industrial Zone (WIZ) that the first-phase program of its new plant has been put into production, while the main part of the second phase has been completed in May, expecting to be put into production at the end of year. AGCO, headquartered in the United States, is one of the Fortune 500 companies and the world’s third agricultural machinery enterprise, owning famous brands like Massey Ferguson, Sisu Power, and so on. Since 2009, AGCO’s investment in China has accounted for 20? establishing five plants in Changzhou, Daqing, Yanzhou and Shanghai, two of which are located in Changzhou with an investment of 218 million U.S. dollars. In 2010, AGCO (Changzhou) Agricultural Machinery Co., Ltd. was registered in WIZ. The construction of this new plant is divided into two phases. The first phase is mainly for the production lines of tractor engine, gearbox and rear axle, while the second phase focuses on assembly and R&D. After AGCO (Changzhou) is wholly put into production, it will be capable of producing 20,000 sets of tractors, 36,000 sets of engines and 36,000 sets of gearboxes annually, and its sales target in China is one billion U.S. dollars. By the end of June, AGCO (Changzhou) has already produced 1,151 sets of tractors and 8,250 sets of engines, selling to the markets both at home and abroad.
