Recently, it was learned from the Section of Vehicle Acquisition Tax, Changzhou Municipal Office, State Administration of Taxation that Changzhou’s car sales maintained a growth in the first half of 2014. From January to June, 67,756 automobiles were registered, contributing vehicle acquisition tax of 970 million yuan. Compared with the same period last year, both figures reached an increase of above 15%. The largest motor vehicle purchase occurred in January, during which a total of 16,036 automobiles were newly bought, and the vehicle acquisition tax reached over 200 million yuan. In May, auto shows played a role in the growth of car sales, during which a total of 12,305 vehicles were newly purchased, second only to the amount in January. According to the insiders of automotive industry, starting from July the automobile market will enter into the traditional off-season. However, car sales will probably maintain the growth momentum due to the increasing household income and increased demand for private cars.
