On the afternoon of June 2, Chen Jinhu, party chief of Changzhou, met with Chen Minzhang, CEO of Wuxi AppTech company.

At the outset, Party Chief Chen expressed his appreciation to Wuxi AppTech, for its longtime support to Changzhou’s development. He then went on to introduce the latest dynamics of the city. Changzhou has the most complete supporting sectors of all industries among similar cities. Currently, the city has reached a balance between economic development and epidemic control. According to Chen, as industry holds the key to a city’s competitiveness, Changzhou will strive to be an international star city in smart manufacturing and a pivotal hub in the Yangtze River Delta. Bio-medicine is an emerging industry, also a vital sector safeguarding people’s health. Eight high-growth industrial sectors, including bio-medicine, are gaining momentum in Changzhou, and Wuxi AppTech boasts the largest and strongest R&D team in China. Its subsidiary, STA Pharma, was established in Changzhou in 2013. It has ranked first in terms of the number of high-level talents employed for five consecutive years. Mr. Chen hopes that the two sides will continue to carry out cooperation. The government will continue to serve as a humble servant and a troubleshooter in addressing the needs of enterprises, creating a better business environment.

CEO Chen Minzhang briefed the party chief on the future plans of the company. From his perspective, Changzhou has a solid industrial foundation and a sound business environment. The Changzhou government has provided strong support for the company’s development. In the future, Wuxi AppTech will make more contributions to the growth of Changzhou.
