The China-Europe Cooperation Conference on Low-Carbon Development opened in Changzhou on June 21, alongside the city's mission to become an international pilot of green innovation.

The conference looks to promote the citywide and even nationwide transition toward a circular economy. It also serves to deepen the cooperation between China and Europe in green and low-carbon development.

Li Lin, vice mayor of Changzhou, said the China-Europe (Changzhou) Green Innovation Park has facilitated the cooperation among 14 institutions from home and abroad, contributed to more than ten partnerships, and introduced several joint ventures.

Since its founding, the park has served well as an international exchange and exhibition platform. It has also launched an effort to join the eco-industrial park initiative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), to explore repeatable practices for other industrial parks in China and Europe.

The conference showed new investment projects by Siemens, Schneider Electric, ROKNI, MYOSM Heating Technology, and other companies. Also unveiled at the event include new initiatives such as the China-Europe Digital Ecosystem Modeling Platform, the China-Ukraine Green and Low-Carbon Innovation Base, and the China-Germany Climate Change Education Program for Young People.
