Recently, it was learned from Changzhou Municipal Gardening and Greening Management Bureau that on December 19th, 2015, the Zijing Park of Changzhou and the American Rose Center in Louisiana, USA officially established international sister garden relationship. The Zijing Park of Changzhou, covering an area of 20.15 hectares, has more than 60,000 plants of rose with over 1,000 varieties. Zijing Park is also the first one in the world that built a corridor to display the evolution of old Chinese rose in kind, which makes it one of the rose-themed parks in China with high-profession caring and management system. In 2012, Zijing Park was awarded the WFRS Award of Garden Excellence in the World Rose Convention held in South Africa. The American Rose Center, in Shreveport, Louisiana, USA is the national headquarters of the American Rose Society. It is the nation’s largest park dedicated to roses. The gardens were dedicated in 1974, when the American Rose Society headquarters moved to the 118 acre tract in Shreveport, Louisiana from Columbus, Ohio. The American Rose Center features more than 65 individual rose gardens and 20,000 rosebushes, with a variety of companion plants, sculptures and fountains, including the beautiful Dudley Watkins Reflection Pool. In 2003, the Gardens of the American Rose Center was awarded the WFRS Award of Garden Excellence in the World Rose Convention held in Glasgow, Scotland. The purpose of the establishment of an international sister garden relationship between Zijing Park and the American Rose Center is to set up a stable and continuous channel for communication and exchanges, in order to promote the exchange and cooperation, on the Rose, between China and the United States.
