Recently, 15 projects of Changzhou were honored the Jiangsu Provincial Award for Science and Technology Progress 2013 at Jiangsu Provincial Science & Technology Awards Conference, representing the latest achievements of industry-academia-research institute collaboration in Changzhou. These 15 projects are related to the fields of new materials, advanced manufacturing, modern agriculture, bio-medicine, etc. Among them, the “Non-traditional Laser Control Technology and Equipment for Key Components co-operated by the Southeast University, AVIC Beijing Aeronautical Manufacturing Technology Research Institute, Changzhou Institute of Light Industry Technology, etc. was awarded the first prize. In 2014, Changzhou will focus on the innovation capability of local companies and support them to increase R&D input, expecting total R & D expenditures of 2.8% in the city’s GDP. With an annual goal of more than 100 newly identified high-tech enterprises, Changzhou will strive to achieve high-tech industry output value of 42.5% in the industrial output value above designated scale in 2014.
