On November 25, it was learned from the Changzhou Investigation Team of National Bureau of Statistics that during the first three quarters of 2013, the per capita consumption expenditure of Changzhou’s urban residents reached 17,013 yuan, an increase of 11.5%. Referring to the Engel coefficient which reflects the standard of people's livelihood, the figures show a gradual decline from 37.8% in the first quarter, 36% in the second quarter, to 35.7% in the third quarter. This indicates that, with the continuous economic development in Changzhou, the incomes of urban residents are growing, and thus the quality of people’s life is improving.
