According to the most recent statistics from Changzhou Administration for Market Regulation, a total of 5,862 patents were granted in Changhzou during January and February 2021, an increase of 41.42 percent over the same period last year. The number of invention patents granted in the two months was 492, up 93.7 percent year-on-year.

In recent years, Changzhou has been pushing the reform of the patent system to enhance the quality of patent examinations. Moreover, the city has hosted training programs and conferences regarding the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), an international IP agreement that provides patent protection in several countries through the filing of a single common application.
