Changzhou sees travel increase on the first day of Spring Festival travel rush

The 40-day Spring Festival travel rush, also known as Chunyun, kicked off on January 17 and will end on February 25.

Railways remain the mainstay of the Spring Festival travel rush, with 26,823 passenger trips recorded at Changzhou’s two railway stations on the first day of Chunyun, a 98.2-percent surge over the same period last year.

On the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush, the city saw 13,593 passenger trips via road, 24.7 percent higher than that of 2021. The number of passenger trips by air stood at 5,531, a year-on-year increase of 241.8 percent.
