On the morning of January 8, the 2018 State Science and Technology Prizes Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. On January 9, it was learned from the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau that three projects in Changzhou won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. They are: theTechnology and Application of Special Surface Shock Hardening Process for Resistance to Stress Corrosion and Fatigueparticipated by Changzhou University, theKey Technologies and Engineering Application of Ultra and UHV Transformer/Reactor Outlet Devicesparticipated by Changzhou Yingzhong Electrical Co., Ltd., and theKey Technology Innovation and Application of Rice Transplanter and Sowing Machine in Multi-cropping Rice Production Areasparticipated by Changzhou Amec Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. So far, Changzhou has won 26 prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, including 2 first prizes and 24 second prizes. Professor Kong Dejun from the School of Mechanical Engineering of Changzhou University participated in the project of Technology and Application of Special Surface Shock Hardening Process for Resistance to Stress Corrosion and Fatigue, which developed the shock hardening process on three kinds of surface based on the stress corrosion and fatigue failure problems of key equipment in petrochemical, chemical, electric power and other fields. It established a comprehensive evaluation system of surface shock hardening process, and realized the scientific prediction of stress corrosion and fatigue life of components after the process. The project of Key Technology Innovation and Application of Rice Transplanter and Sowing Machine in Multi-cropping Rice Production Areas was jointly declared by Academician Zhang Hongcheng of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Changzhou Amec Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. and Yangzhou University. It has carried out a series of technological innovations through the integration of agricultural machinery and agronomy, and has filled the gap in the application of rice planting machinery in China with internationally advanced technology. Changzhou Yingzhong Electric Co., Ltd. participated in the research and development of the Key Technologies and Engineering Application of Ultra and UHV Transformer/Reactor Outlet Devices, specifically to overcome the material and design problems of the UHV outlet device, which has improved China's technology in the field of ultra-high pressure equipment manufacturing. At present, the project achievements have been applied in 7 UHV projects and 28 EHV projects. The relevant achievements have also been applied to domestic high-speed rail projects, creating remarkable economic and social benefits.
