This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Israel. As part of the celebration events, the 2022 China-Israel Innovation Cooperation Week kicked off Monday morning in Changzhou. Mayor Sheng Lei received the delegation headed by Irit Ben-Abba, Israel's Ambassador to China, on the evening of September 4. Sheng thanked Ambassador Ben-Abba for her support for China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park (CICP), the first experimental zone for innovation cooperation established by the two governments. She pointed out that over the past seven years, the two sides have carried out extensive cooperation in education programs, innovation platforms, and industrial clusters based on CICP and in the innovation-oriented city of Changzhou. Going forward, Changzhou and CICP will attract more high-quality projects, talents, and investments from Israel to promote the bilateral innovation cooperation to a new level, said Sheng. Israel and China have witnessed substantial bilateral cooperation since they established diplomatic ties 30 years ago, with economic, cultural and people-to-people exchanges booming, Ambassador Ben-Abba said. Glad to know that CICP has attracted many Israeli businesses to settle in Changzhou, the ambassador looked forward to promoting more cooperation in extensive areas including new energy, healthcare, and modern agriculture. City leaders Qiao Junjie and Huan Heng attended the meeting.
