YRD Carbon Fiber & Composite Materials Innovation Center unveiled

On June 27, the unveiling ceremony of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) Carbon Fiber and Composite Materials Innovation Center was held in Changzhou. Hu Guangjie, vice governor of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, and Chen Jinhu, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, unveiled the Center’s plaque together.

Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) Prof. Yue Qingrui and Prof. Yang Weimin attended the event and delivered speeches.

At the unveiling ceremony, Changzhou Municipal People's Government, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), and Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI) signed a joint development agreement.

It is learned that the YRD Carbon Fiber and Composite Materials Innovation Center has been approved as a provincial-level project.

The Center will focus on research, development, and industrial application of advanced civil engineering, composite material structure, green materials, green manufacturing, and other technologies.

It will also introduce and cultivate a group of scientists, thought leaders, and innovative teams in carbon fiber technologies to make crucial breakthroughs in this field and improve Jiangsu's industrial competitiveness on the international stage.

The event also had the presence of Zhang Wenhao, deputy secretary-general of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, Zhao Jianguo, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Shi Xiaopeng, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Jiang Pengju, deputy mayor of Changzhou.
