On September 8, Qi Jiabin, secretary of CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, met with Hou Jianjun, general manager of China Eastern Airlines Jiangsu Limited. The two sides discussed further cooperation in expanding the China Eastern Airlines Changzhou Base.

China Eastern Airlines is the only carrier that has set up a flight crew base in Changzhou. Having six of its aircrafts parking overnight at Changzhou International Airport, China Eastern Airlines plays a pivotal role in Changzhou’s expansion of its civil aviation businesses and air route network.

Qi Jiabin expressed gratitude to China Eastern Airlines for its continuous support to Changzhou’s aviation industry, hoping to see more and closer cooperation between Eastern Airlines and Changzhou Airport in network expansion, so as to facilitate people’s travel to more places with better services. He stated that the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and Municipal Government will, with an open mind and a pragmatic approach, work together with Eastern Airlines to improve the infrastructure, operation and service of Changzhou Airport.

Hou Jianjun, impressed by Changzhou’s growing momentum as a star city, said that China Eastern Airlines takes the Changzhou base as a key part of its development plan, and will play an active role in promoting Changzhou’s civil aviation industry by adding more flights to and from Changzhou Airport.

City leaders Fang Guoqiang and Jiang Feng attended the meeting.
