From May 25th to 27th, the 2016 Work Conference of National Sports Industry Bases was held in Liyang. Li Hua, director of the Sports Equipment Center of State General Administration of Sports (SGAS), attended the conference and delivered a speech. 100 sports department leaders and experts from all provinces and cities in China attended the conference.

The conference, focusing on theNotice on Further Strengthening the Development of National Sports Industry Basesissued by the SGAS, summed up the status quo of domestic sports industry bases, carried out the exchange of successful experiences among national sports industry demonstration bases, and specially promoted Liyang’s experience in the development of national sports industry base.

It is learned that in recent years, Liyang has figured out a healthy development mode combining sports industry with tourism economy. Liyang was named the Sunan National Sports Industry Base by the SGAS in 2013, and was appointed as the Contact Site of National Sports Industry Bases and honored as one of the Top Ten Chinese Sports Cities in 2015. Last year, Liyang's sports tourism achieved total revenue of 4.8 billion yuan, a contribution of 30% to the city’s tourism revenue.
