Recently, it was learned from the Survey Office of the National Bureau of Statistics in Changzhou and the Municipal Price Bureau that Changzhou’s consumer price index (CPI) rose 2.4% in September year-on-year, and the CPI increase picks up 2.7% in the first three quarters of 2016. The prices of food, tobacco and alcohol increased by 2.1%, accounting for 0.57 percentage points of CPI increase. The prices of health care, clothing, household appliances and maintenance services, other supplies and services, housing, and transportation and communication increased by 17.1%, 3.4%, 2.9%, 2.8%, 1.1% and 0.1% respectively. The prices of goods and services of entertainment, education and culture reduced by 0.6%.
