It was learned on July 29th that the team led by Prof. Ding Jianning has successfully developed a super elastic conductor which can be applied to not only artificial skin and muscle, but also large deformation conductor. On July 24th, this result was released in the U.S. Journal Science, which received much attention from Europe and America. Prof. Ding is currently working in Changzhou University. His team members come from the Jiangnan Institute of Graphene and the University of Texas at Dallas. In general, this result is achieved by making super elastic conductor from ordinary carbon nanotube reinforced rubber composites. It looks like ordinary rubber cable. Its maximum tensile is up to 14 times, and the conductivity can be increased by 200 times at most while the electrical resistance remains unchanged.
