On April 1, it was learned from the city’s joint meeting to accelerate the development of private sector that currently Changzhou has a total of 97,909 private enterprises, and 218,945 individual industrial and commercial households. In 2014, there were 18,256 newly registered private companies, an increase of 35.5%, and 44,624 new individual industrial and commercial households, up 15.1%, both hitting new highs. Zhang Yue, Member of the Standing Committee of Changzhou Municipal Committee of CPC and Director of the United Front Work Department of the Municipal Committee of CPC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Vice Mayor Wang Chengbin chaired the meeting. Private sector plays an important role in the city's economic development. Last year, the private sector added value of 330.89 billion yuan, an increase of 10.1%, accounting for 67.5% of the city's GDP, up 0.4 percentage points over the previous year, maintaining growth for many years. The above-scale private industrial enterprises achieved output value of 722.5 billion yuan, accounting for 64.5% of that of industrial corporates above designated size.
