On the afternoon of July 19, Fan Yanqing, party secretary of Changzhou Municipal Committee, met with Tanimoto Masanori, governor of Ishikawa.

Since the 1970s, Changzhou has made exchange and cooperation with Ishikawa in politics, trade, science and education, agriculture, environment protection, culture and arts, tourism and youth activities. Besides, Liyang and Ishikawa established sister-city relationship in 1996.

Fan Yanqing warmly welcomes the delegation. He stated that Changzhou ��s industry structure was based on machinery and equipment manufacturing, which was similar to the competitive industries of Ishikawa and suitable for the development of their enterprises in China . Next year it will be the 40th anniversary of normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan . He hoped both sides would strengthen the cooperation in economy, culture and education.

Tanimoto Masanori said, Komatsu, enterprise from Ishikawa, had become the leader in construction machinery field in the world. He hoped that Changzhou government could provide more support for Komatsu and also expected to further deepen the friendly exchange between two cities.
