Recently, a joint laboratory of digital twin applications was co-established by Jiangsu Changjiang Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute Co., Ltd. and the School of Intelligent Manufacturing Industry of Changzhou University. Digital twin technology plays an important role in intelligent manufacturing. Digital twins combine sensors, cognitive, analytics and data to make digital simulations and virtualized product and assets (the twins). This pairing of the virtual and physical worlds allows analysis of data and monitoring of systems to head off problems before they even occur, prevent downtime, develop new opportunities and even plan for the future by using simulations. In the future, the two parties will cooperate in intelligent manufacturing and virtual simulation platforms to jointly build a high-level simulation laboratory and a demonstration base for training intelligent manufacturing talents. In addition, Changzhou University will organize teacher training and initiate relevant curriculum development. The lab will be officially put into use in September this year.
