China Masters 2011 held in Changzhou

On September 13th, the 2011 Li-Ning China Masters was opened at the Olympic Sports Center here in Changzhou .

As one leg of the BWF Super Series, the China Masters is ranked right after the Thomas Cup, the Uber Cup and the World Championships. Among the 12 Super Series tournaments, the China Masters is the only event named with ¡°masters,¡± which offers the highest amount of prize money up to USD 250,000 in total.

Since 2008, the China Masters has been successfully hosted in Changzhou for three straight years. This year, more than 230 players from 19 countries and regions including China , Malaysia , Indonesia , Japan , Denmark , England , etc. attended the China Masters 2011. A number of star players also took part in the event, such as the top-ranked Chinese players Lin Dan (world champion in men¡¯s singles), Wang Yihan (world champion in women¡¯s singles), Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng (world champions in men¡¯s doubles), Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang (world champions in women¡¯s doubles), and Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei (world champions in mixed doubles); the famous Danish players Peter Gade and Tine Baun; and the well-known Korean mix doubles players Lee Yong-Dae and Jung Jae-Sung.
