According to the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, between 00:00 and 24:00, February 12, Jiangsu had 27 newly confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), of which two were in Changzhou.

One of the newly confirmed cases in Changzhou is a resident of Wujin district, who had close contact with her uncle, a previously confirmed case in Liuan city, Anhui province. She drove to Anhui for a family reunion on January 21 and returned to Changzhou on February 5. The other patient, currently a resident in Liyang, Changzhou, visited Jintan District People’s Hospital between January 27 and February 2. Both of them are currently receiving treatment in designated hospitals and are in stable physical condition. 38 people who were in close contact with the two patients have been found and are now under medical observation.

As of the 12th of February, 570 confirmed cases have been reported in Jiangsu, of which 38 cases were confirmed in Changzhou. To date, a total of 12 patients in Changzhou diagnosed with the NCP have been cured and have been subsequently discharged from the hospital.

Experts urge people who have traveled to Changzhou from Hubei province or another outbreak area to register at the local community or village committees. You will need to complete a temperature check and report the relevant information. Stay at home for a 14-day medical observation period and pay attention to your physical condition. If symptoms such as fever, cough, chest distress, shortness of breath, fatigue or diarrhea have occurred or occur during the isolation period, call 120 (hotline for emergency care and first aid) or contact your community officers to receive treatment at one of the designated fever clinics.

In order to reduce the risk of cross-infection, please avoid public situations such as parties and gatherings, and do not go to any crowded places.
