Vice Mayor Fang Guoqiang receives Australian delegation

On the morning of May 18th, Vice Mayor Fang Guoqiang met with the delegation headed by Kate Roffey, executive vice mayor of Wyndham, Victoria, Australia.

The City of Wyndham is a local government area in Victoria, Australia in the outer south-western suburbs of Melbourne, within the Melbourne Metropolitan Area, between Melbourne and the regional city of Geelong. It has an area of 542 square kilometres. Wyndham not only has the advantage in chemical production, metal products and food processing, but also enjoys Australia's most abundant renewable energy like solar.

Victoria and Jiangsu have been twinned for 38 years. Under the framework of the alliance, Wyndham intends to establish an international friendship-city relationship with Changzhou to promote comprehensive exchanges in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, education, culture and health.

Last year, Changzhou's total trade volume with Australia reached 1.32 billion US dollars, an increase of 11.7%. The exports to Australia include machinery, textile, solar cells, metal products, etc. As of the end of last year, a total of 194 Australian investment enterprises have been approved to register in Changzhou with registered foreign capital of 806 million US dollars.
