On the morning of June 28, the International Sister Cities†Reception Hall officially opened in Changzhou Library. Since 1986, Changzhou has established ties with 54 sister cities in 27 countries across five continents. Over the past 36 years, Changzhou has taken the lead in promoting cooperation and exchanges with its international sister cities through multiple approaches and in various areas. The Reception Hall, being the first of its kind in Jiangsu province, will serve as an important platform for Changzhou to enhance partnerships with its sister cities around the world. Seated on the fifth floor of Changzhou Library, the Reception Hall displays the books and souvenirs gifted by Changzhou’s sister cities over the years, showcasing the city’s history and achievements in promoting opening-up and people-to-people exchanges. Visitors can have a glance at these sister cities†beautiful places, different traditions, and works of literature and art, as well as identity Changzhou as a historic city with global vision. Deputy Mayor Huan Heng attended the opening ceremony. On the first floor of the library, there is a photo exhibition of the sister cities and a ceramic art exhibition displaying the works of artists from Changzhou and its Japanese sister cities, which will last till the end of July.
