On the morning of December 3, the 5th Yangtze River Delta Social Modernization Summit was held in the Changzhou Party Institute of CPC. The participants had discussion on the theme of "practice and exploration of new urbanization." Mr. Zhang Chunfu, member of the Standing Committee of Changzhou Municipal Committee of CPC and director of the Municipal Organization Department, attended the summit and delivered a speech.

In 2012, Changzhou's urbanization rate reached 66.2%, ranking the seventh among China’s prefecture-level cities according to theRankings of Urbanization Quality of Cities at and above Prefecture Levelreleased by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in December last year.
