On May 23, Changzhou University and West Taihu Science and Technology Industrial Park signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement to jointly build the West Taihu Carbon Materials Research Institute of Changzhou University and the Changzhou West Taihu Advanced Research Institute of Medical Engineering. The West Taihu Carbon Materials Research Institute, with new energy and new materials as target industries, will focus on the development and industrialization of carbon materials to nurture the production and application technology of 1D, 2D and 3D carbon structures and composite materials. It will strive to incubate three to five carbon material technology-based businesses and more than 20 other high-tech enterprises in three to five years. The West Taihu Medical Engineering Advanced Research Institute will serve as a key part of the West Taihu International Innovation Center of Medical Science and Technology, as well as an important base for Changzhou University’s medical science interdisciplinary development. Targeting the industrial needs of the industrial park, the institute is committed to promoting an effective interaction between high-quality science and education resources and the park’s main industries. It will provide accurate and efficient research and development, human resources and technology transfer services, so as to support the introduction and transfer of international medical technologies and optimize the park’s big data ecosystem. Its goal is to become a high-end platform that integrates technological innovation, scientific research, international cooperation, public services and high-caliber talent pool.
