Recently, it was learned from the Market Supervision Bureau of Wujin District, Changzhou that Wujin National High-Tech Industrial Zone (WIZ) has been identified as a national IPR demonstration park by the State Intellectual Property Office. The construction period of the park is from June 2019 to June 2022.

In order to better support innovation-driven development and economic transformation, WIZ has been actively promoting the implementation of its IPR strategy as part of the overall construction of an independent innovation demonstration zone in southern Jiangsu.

In 2018, WIZ newly authorized 818 invention patents and received 23 PCT patent applications. It was honored one Chinese Patent Excellence Award and two Provincial IPR Strategy Promotion Plans. Seven enterprises in the zone were recognized as national outstanding IPR demonstration enterprises. During its construction of a national IPR pilot park, the total amount of patent licensing transactions in WIZ reached 250 million yuan and the amount of IP transactions was 13.618 million. The zone has also established the Jiangsu IPR Alliance of Robotics and Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Industry and the WIZ Patent Alliance of Semiconductor Lighting Industry.

Going forward, according to the 13th Five-Year Plan for National Intellectual Property Protection and Utilization, the Market Supervision Bureau of Wujin will step up guidance on the construction of WIZ as a national IPR demonstration park and the application of the West Taihu Science and Technology Industrial Park as a provincial IPR demonstration park.
