The second annual Best Rice Brands list was announced in Nanjing, Jiangsu province on December 4. The “Huangjin Village� rice produced by Jintudi Organic Grain Cooperative in Jintan district, Changzhou is rated among the 30 best brands for white rice in China.

The list was jointly decided by Jiangsu Federation of Supply and Market Cooperatives, Farmers Daily, and China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation. A total of 313 rice businesses in 13 provinces across the country sent samples of their products for evaluation. The assessment process took three months, including the first-round selection by a third party and the final reviews by experts in agricultural industry.

Huangjin Village has maintained high-quality white rice cultivation through the application of green manures in crop rotation, said Yan Qinghua, secretary of CPC Huangjin Village Committee of Zhulin town in Jintan district.
