Spring Festival tourists rise 20% in Changzhou

On February 13th, it was learned from Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Tourism that during the Spring Festival, a total of 3,396,900 tourists visited the city’s 69 supervised tourist attractions, an increase of nearly 20%, generating revenue of about 150 million yuan, up 23%.

The three major theme parks, namely, the Universal Dinosaur Town, the Yancheng Tourist Area of Spring and Autumn Period, and the Joyland, received some 592,000 million tourists, of which, the Universal Dinosaur Town had over 400,000 tourists. Tianning Temple, Tianning Pagoda, Baolin Temple and China Filial Piety Park launched traditional programs such as burning incense sticks and ringing the bell, attracting about 89,900 tourists, an increase of more than 22%.

In addition, the dragon and lion dance held in parks, art exhibitions, and flowers blooming in the Hongmei Park, Weidun Park and Qingfeng Park also attracted a large number of tourists.

The city's hotels and restaurants reported an occupancy rate of 66.25%, nearly one percentage point higher than the previous years.

Hot spring and spa tour has become a major highlight of this year's Spring Festival. Dino Valley Hot Spring Resort, Yushui Hot Spring, and Tianmu Mingtang Xiaozai Hot Spring received about 71,100 tourists, an increase of 8.6%.
