On March 16, the Consulate General of Ethiopia, Shanghai held an investment forum in Changzhou, together with Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Foreign Affairs Office of Changzhou Municipal People’s Government.

The event aims to explore more cooperation opportunities between Changzhou and the cities of Ethiopia in trade, culture and tourism.

At the forum, Workalemahu Desta Eshete, consul general of the Ethiopian Consulate General in Shanghai, gave a presentation on Ethiopia’s investment environment and best industries for investors.

Sima Shuanglong, vice director of Changzhou Foreign Affairs Office, delivered the welcoming speech.

Ji Bin, chairman of Changzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), gave a comprehensive introduction to Changzhou’s foreign trade development.

He said that the investment forum, an event signifying the friendship between Changzhou and the Ethiopian Consulate General in Shanghai, is expected to serve as a platform for local enterprises to participate in the Belt & Road Initiative by investing in Ethiopia.
