According to the officially released information from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, between 00:00 and 24:00, March 8, no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Jiangsu. One of the previously severe cases has turned moderate after treatment. Eight additional patients have been cured and discharged from the hospital. As of the 8th of March, 631 confirmed cases have been reported in Jiangsu accumulatively, of which 93 were in Nanjing, 55 were in Wuxi, 79 were Xuzhou, 51 were in Changzhou, 87 were in Suzhou, 40 were in Nantong, 48 were in Lianyungang, 66 were in Huai’an, 27 were in Yancheng, 23 were in Yangzhou, 12 were in Zhenjiang, 37 were in Taizhou, and 13 were in Suqian. To date, all the patients in Nanjing, Changzhou, Nantong, Yancheng, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Taizhou and Suqian diagnosed with COVID-19 have been cured and have been subsequently discharged from the hospital. According to the relevant national laws and regulations, based on the current COVID-19 situation in the province, Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government has lowered its level of public health emergency response from level-I to level-II. Up to now, all the cities, counties and districts in Jiangsu have been identified as low-risk areas. Experts urge the public to take necessary health precautions no matter which level of exposure risk to COVID-19 is measured in your city. Maintain healthy hygiene habits such as wearing a mask when going out, washing your hands frequently, covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and keeping your room well-ventilated. As companies have started resuming operation, employees are recommended to keep ample space when communicating with coworkers and dine at staggered hours, in order to reduce the risk of exposure to someone who may be infected.
