On May 23, a three-member delegation headed by Kenssy D. Ekaningsih, Consul General of Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Shanghai, visited Changzhou. Deputy Mayor Fang Guoqiang met with the delegates in the Administration Center. Fang expressed warm welcome to Ekaningsih’s delegation, and briefed the economic and social development of Changzhou as well as the exchange and cooperation with Indonesia. He hoped that Ekaningsih’s visit would help further promote the establishment of friendship-city relationship between Changzhou and some Indonesian city, which would benefit bilateral exchange and cooperation in areas of economy, trade, culture, education, etc. Ekaningsih said the Indonesian government attached great importance to developing friendly relations with China, especially the Yangtze River Delta region. In the future, the Indonesian government will expand cooperation in science and technology, education, industry and other fields, and will choose a city to be twinned with Changzhou. During their stay in Changzhou, Ekaningsih’s delegation had a meeting with Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office concerning the establishment of friendship cities.
