On May 19th, the UK-China Science Bridge Open Innovation Workshop 2014 was opened in Changzhou. Zhang Yue, member of the Standing Committee of Changzhou Municipal Committee of CPC and director of the United Front Work Department of Changzhou, attended the seminar and delivered a speech.

Since 2010, Changzhou has achieved more than 70 cooperation intentions through the UK-China Science Bridge Open Innovation Workshop.

In October 2009, Changzhou, the University of Bradford and Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to carry on cooperation with UK's leading universities and high-tech companies.

Between 2010 and 2013, Changzhou has successfully held five sessions of UK-China Science Bridge Open Innovation Workshop, and has achieved more than 70 cooperation intentions with the University of Bradford, UK Trade & Investment, the Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI), White Rose University Consortium, the University of Nottingham, the Imperial College, etc. A total of 11 projects have received 13.675 million yuan of funding from the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau.
