On June 2, a major project in Jiangsu Province, "Oriental Jurassic Park", started construction in Tianning District, creating a new landmark for the cultural and tourism industry in Changzhou and a new engine for urban vitality.

The CPC Party Chief Chen Jinhu, Mayor Sheng Lei, Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress Bai Yunping and the Municipal CPPCC Chairman Dai Yuan attended the ground-breaking ceremony.

In her remarks, Mayor Sheng mentioned that Changzhou has always been innovative in developing tourism. As the cultural and tourism industry faces unprecedented challenges brought by the Covid-19, the government has strengthened support to this sector. She hopes that the China Dinosaur Park group will continue to be creative in developing this project, and make it a new landmark in the city. In the next step, the Tianning District government will try its best to provide the best service, greatest support and strongest guarantee for the "Oriental Jurassic Park" project, and strive to realize the project's early completion and operation; the Changzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government will also eliminate all the difficulties, and create all favourable conditions to advance the project.

The Oriental Jurassic Park will be located in the east of China Dinosaur Park Tourist Resort. It will focus on building Dinosaur Planet, Interstellar Space City, Chuangzhi Headquarters, Waterfront Ecological Park and a number of themed resort hotels, forming a new generation of A national-level comprehensive tourist resort, which will help the construction of Changzhou's cultural and tourism center and the Yangtze River Delta leisure and vacation center. The Park will be divided into two phases of construction. The core projects of the first phase are "Dinosaur Planet" and "Dinosaur Man Castle Hotel", a large-scale base for disaster prevention and hedging education and research. The project will start construction this year and is expected to be completed in 2025; The second phase will integrate the theme of "spaceflight" into large-scale indoor amusements, themed hotels and fashion shopping to create a world-class tourist destination. Construction is expected to start in 2025.

After completion, the Oriental Jurassic Park will be integrated with the established area of the China Dinosaur Park Tourism Resort, releasing the aggregation effect of the resort, further enriching the tourism culture of the Dinosaur Park, and enhancing the market competitiveness of the resort. It will become a one-stop tourism and vacation destination in the Yangtze River Delta.
