In early July, a six-member business delegation led by John Chiang, former California State Treasurer, visited Changzhou to inspect local enterprises, learn about the city’s development and explore business cooperation opportunities. On the afternoon of July 1, deputy mayor Chen Zhengchun received the delegation at the Administrative Center. Chen briefed the guests on the geographical location advantages and economic and social development of Changzhou and reviewed the friendly exchanges between Changzhou and the cities in the United States in the fields of economy, trade, culture and education in recent years. He hopes that the visit of the delegation will enhance mutual understanding and achieve win-win results. John Chiang said that Changzhou has shown valuable experiences in many areas of scientific and technological development, long-standing culture and environment protection. He hopes to increase exchanges and cooperation between the enterprises in Changzhou and the Imperial Valley Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) in California. Liu Wenrong, deputy secretary-general of Changzhou Municipal People’s Government, Du Jibin, director of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Shen Lian, deputy director of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and Han Xueqin, deputy director of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, attended the meeting. During their stay in Changzhou, the delegates visited Jiangsu Changhe Electronics Co.,Ltd., Jiangsu Wanbang Dehe New Energy Technology Co.,Ltd., Jiangsu Hengli Hydraulic Co., Ltd., Jiangnan Global Harbor, etc.
