According to the main data of Changzhou’s high-tech industry published by the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and the Municipal Bureau of Statistics, in 2018 the output value of high-tech industry in Changzhou increased by 11.3% year-on-year, accounting for 47.3% of the total industrial output value of the city.

In recent years, Changzhou's high-tech industry has developed rapidly. The output value of intelligent equipment manufacturing, new materials manufacturing and electronics and communication equipment manufacturing accounted for more than 82% of the city's total output value. Aerospace manufacturing, electronics and communication equipment manufacturing, computer and office equipment manufacturing continued to grow rapidly, up 63.3%, 29.7% and 28.5% respectively.
