On the morning of July 18, Mr. Fei Gaoyun, deputy party secretary & acting mayor of Changzhou, met with Mr. Gu Sang Chan, consul general of Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai. This was the first time Gu visited Changzhou since he was appointed the consul general. Fei expressed welcome to Gu, and introduced the general situation of Changzhou. Fei said, Changzhou has frequent economic and trade exchanges with South Korean companies, and has long maintained friendly relations. This year, Changzhou Airport will open international flights, and the flights to South Korea will be opened by then. It is reported that by the end of last year, 89 South Korean enterprises had made investment in Changzhou, with materialized foreign investment of 230 million U.S. dollars. In the first five months this year, the city's total import and export to South Korea reached 593 million U.S. dollars, of which the exports was 223 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 3.1%, and the imports was 370 million yuan, an increase of 4.07%.
