On the morning of June 3, the launching ceremony of China Mobile Yangtze River Delta (Changzhou) Zhonglou Cloud Computing Center was held in Zhonglou Economic Development Zone. Chen Jinhu, deputy secretary of CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Changzhou Municipal People’s Government, and Zhou Chengtao, secretary-general of the Municipal Government, attended the ceremony. The project, located in the East China Cloud Computing Center based in Zhonglou district, covers an area of about 19,000 square meters with the total investment exceeding 2 billion yuan. It will be jointly constructed by China Mobile’s branch in Changzhou and the Zhonglou Economic Development Zone. Taking part in the national plan for peaking carbon dioxide emissions before 2030, the project will serve as an internet data center (IDC) for China Mobile’s subscribers in the Yangtze River Delta region. It will be equipped with over 3,000 racks (power density at 5-7 kW per rack) for more than 30,000 servers. The total international internet bandwidth is expected to reach 2.5 Tbps. During the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan period, Zhonglou is committed to developing the industrial internet based on its facilities like the Changzhou Big Data Industrial Park, the Cloud for Healthcare, and the Cloud for Industries.
