Based on the progress of containing the epidemic situation, the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control headquarters of Changzhou decided to downgrade its three medium-risk areas, namely Jiuzhou Xinshijie Huayuanjunxi and South Gongrenxincun in Lanling sub-district of Tianning district and Hutang Yucheng in Wujin district, to low-risk areas for COVID-19 starting from Wednesday, November 17.

At the same time, after an evaluation and approval procedure by relevant authorities, lockdowns in these communities have been lifted.

After the adjustment, all areas across Changzhou are now at a low-risk level.

Low risk does not mean zero risk. Given the rapid rate of spread as seen in current COVID-19 outbreaks in the Chinese mainland this autumn and winter, we must remain vigilant to solidify the defense against imported cases and local flare-ups. Everyone bears the primary responsibility for their health. Other epidemic prevention and control measures should continue after the lifting of lockdown.
